HR2546 Signed Into Law

On Tuesday, November 26, 2002, President Bush signed into law Bill HR2546, the Real Interstate Drivers Equity Act. THe bill prohibits states, other than the home licensing state, from enacting or enforcing a law requiring a fee or other payment requirement on vehicles that provide pre-arranged interstate transportation service.

The bill was originally introduced by Congressman Roy Blunt (R-MO) and has been moving its way through the halls of congress for more than three years.
