WILLIAMSBURG, VA – The Albert Durant Photography Collection at Colonial Williamsburg offers a visual archive of the African-American experience in Williamsburg from the 1930s to the 1960s. Albert T. Durant, Williamsburg’s first licensed African-American photographer, made the acquaintance of many influential people, including government officials and the rich and famous, through his limousine business. This provided him with the opportunity to take their pictures.

The Albert Durant Photography Collection provides an extensive photographic display that details the artist and his works. The collection is in the Bruton Heights School Education Center off First Street.
