***A Special note from Publisher Sara Eastwood:

Dear LCT Leadership Summit Supporters,

It is with deep regret that I inform you that this falls event being held on October 12-14 at the Boca Raton Beach Club has been postponed until October 11-13, 2002. Due to the tragedy that befell our nation on September 11, my instincts tell me that it?s best for you to stay close to your businesses and focus on getting your clients moving again.

Let me take this moment to add that while the world is still stunned and largely immobilized today, people that must travel for their livelihood WILL get back to work and WILL require your services. People needing a vacation WILL go on trips. It may take a month to see production begin to move at a ?breath-easier? pace, but our economy cannot and therefore will not stand still for long.

I?ve had the opportunity to speak with many, many operators this week who are being reactive to the crisis. They are calling their clients and offering door to door service and other transportation options. Some very large operators in the New York Metropolitan area tell me that they?re receiving new calls from people who would normally take taxis. There will be short-flight business commuters that will reevaluate ground transportation as an alternative to the airlines and that will open more doors for long distance runs. Also, now is a very good time to meet with your local associations and ban together to work with airports on drop off policies and any other restrictions to ingress/egress from airports that may impact your business.

In the meantime, LCT is here for you. In the coming months we will focus on providing you insights and strategies for pulling through this challenging time.

An operator emailed me an old saying from his grandmother the other day and I thought it poignant for the moment at hand. He wrote, ?Tough times don?t last, but tough people do.?

Stay strong.

Very truly yours,

Sara Eastwood LCT Publisher/Show Chair
