MARLTON, N.J. – Francis Shane, who has considerable experience in association management, was named executive director of the National Limousine Association.

He most recently served as executive director of the International Roots Conference, a company specializing in running family research conferences. Prior to that, he was executive director of the National Genealogical Society, managing its $2.5 million annual budget and supervising a staff of 14.

He previously was president of a consulting firm that managed political candidate campaigns, corporate-issue campaigns and gross-roots issue campaigns.

Shane also has served as executive vice president of a citizens’ lobbying organization and worked in senior jobs for two building-industry associations in Pennsylvania.

Shane is a board member of the Foundation for International Meetings. He also is a member of the American Society of Association Executives, the Professional Convention Management Association, the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Greater Washington Society of Association Executives.

He will work out of the NLA’s headquarters in Marlton, N.J.

Shane was selected following a detailed search for candidates by the NLA board of directors and Bobit Publishing, which manages the association. He succeeds Tom Mazza, who left the NLA to pursue other business interests in the limousine industry.
