DEARBORN, Mich. — Ford Motor Co. reiterated today that it is not eliminating the Lincoln Town Car model, the most widely used chauffeured sedan in the United States.

An article from a Canadian newspaper that appeared on LCT Magazine’s most recent Driving Force e-newsletter incorrectly stated that the Lincoln MKS will replace the Town Car.

“We are not doing away with the Town Car,” said Doug Walczak, limousine and livery manager for Ford Motor Co. “Ford has never said that the MKS is the successor to, or the replacement of, the Town Car.”

Walczak said all Lincoln Town Car models will be available “into the foreseeable future.”

The company does not comment on or speculate about its future product plans, Walczak said.
