While the numbers are hard to pin down, the reality is drivers don't make much when factoring out overhead costs.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. — With prom and wedding season well underway, it's no surprise many limousine companies are seeing a sharp increase in business. Some of the more popular rides that are particularly attractive for proms are not only the Hummer, but the Cadillac Escalade, and the Rolls Royce.
Experts in the limo business say the interior designs have come a long way over the last decade. Depending on the model, many include light shows, flat screen TV's, and even wireless Internet capabilities.
At American Limousine in Syracuse, business is up 50% this month compared to just a few months ago. "I would say the increase would probably be about 60%. So, it is significant. I mean this is our bread and butter season from anytime from April until October, that's when we, that's when we shine," said Mike Donohue, general manager.
Donohue said there's still time to get a limo for an event this summer but you should try to book it as soon as possible.
