The United States Senate passed HR2546, the Real Interstate Drivers Equity Act in October. The bill had already passed the House of Representatives and now awaits the President's signature. Congressional representatives have said that the President should sign it after the November elections.

The bill prohibits states, other than the home licensing state, from enacting or enforcing a law requiring a fee or other payment requirement on vehicles that provide pre-arraigned interstate transportation service.
