Ford Appoints Highest-Ranking Female Exec in Company History

As Ford Motor Co. embarks on its second major restructuring in three years, the automaker has enlisted one of the most powerful women in the auto industry, a seasoned executive with experience in engineering, manufacturing and management, to help lead it back to profitability.

Anne Stevens, 56, group vice president, Canada, Mexico and South America, was elected executive vice president, Ford Motor Co., and COO, the Americas. Stevens' new role also makes her the first female executive vice president in company history and one of the highest-ranking women in the auto industry.
