CLINTON, N.J. – Following the death of founder Jack Harrison, AAA Guaranteed On-Time Limousine Service has been purchased by Ken Schapiro, Steve Tipping, and Alex J. Mayer, the first two of whom were already shareholders.

Mr. Harrison, who died on Feb. 19, was the majority owner of the company that he founded in 1991. Mr. Schapiro and Mr. Tipping became his partners when the company went bankrupt in 2001.

Mr. Mayer started out as a client of the limo service. He traveled about 250 days a year and was normally sitting in the back seat of the car. When Mr. Harrison hired him to be sales director for the company in 2000, he first put in six months as a chauffeur. After he helped the company recover from the slump caused by the 9/11 tragedy, Mr. Mayer became general manager and is now the second-largest shareholder of the company.

The company has promoted Bruce Parmly from chauffeur to director of sales. He came to the company with hotel management experience and is a strong believer in customer service. He is an active member of the networking group BNI in Clinton, attends many of the Chamber of Commerce events, and continues to seek new clients for the limo service. Mr. Schapiro is now president, Mr. Tipping is treasurer, and Mr. Mayer is vice president and secretary.

"Jack was always a firm believer in customer service," notes Mr. Schapiro. "This is why we are setting up the Jack Harrison Memorial Customer Service Award" to recognize an employee each month who has gone "above and beyond for our clients." He is also a partner in Condor Capital Management and Courtside Racquet Club. "All three companies are focused on customer service, and continually share ideas on how to improve the quality of service each one provides."

Mr. Mayer said, "Jack's presence in the office will be missed by everyone, especially me," but he assures customers that the company's "day-to-day operations have not changed. We are still focused on customer service and will continue to do the best job for our clients. This is what Jack would want."
