Was the reaction too harsh? Or an important part of what is supposed to set luxury transportation providers apart from TNC drivers?
BREA, Calif. – Krystal Enterprises built 46 limousines for the Mirage Resorts chain of casinos this summer, the largest order of its kind in recent history for the Southern California coachbuilder.
According to Krystal’s executive vice president, John Beck, the deal – which was valued at approximately $2.9 million – was part of a positive sales trend that began in the second quarter of 2003.
May 2003 was the first month since September 2001 that Krystal built more than 100 limousines in one month.
The Mirage Resorts order included 10 dark blue 120-inch five-door limousines for the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Miss., with the remainder being silver 62-inch stretches: 20 for the Bellagio and 16 for the Mirage Resort, both in Las Vegas. The majority of the limousines were delivered in July 2003.
“They have been ordering those 62-inch custom limousines since 1990,” Beck said. “The vehicle was designed specifically for them. We blast the casino’s logo discreetly into the side windows.”
Mirage Resorts operates 10 casinos around the country.
