MIAMI, Fla. -- Dr. Yvonne LaMar was named the new executive director of the Minority Limousine Operators of America (MLOA) on Wednesday, which was announced during the association’s bi-monthly conference call meeting.
MLOA President Maurice Brewster (Mosaic Global Transportation) said LaMar’s appointment will help “get the ball rolling to move the association forward.”
Brewster said that the decision to hire an executive director came from member input during an MLOA meeting held during the International LCT Show in February in Las Vegas.
LaMar, based in Miami, gained visibility in the limousine industry by providing educational seminars through Tom Mazza Consulting on topics such as government contract submissions, quality assurance evaluations, and overnight dispatch operations. The late Tom Mazza, who died in August 2012, was the limousine industry's foremost consultant and educator.
In 2011, a partnership was formed between LaMar and Dr. Christine Kay to provide Quality Assurance services to large luxury ground transportation operators nationwide. The service, LimousineQA, provides online surveys for passengers who are instantly processed and available to executive teams.
LaMar's academic background is in educational psychology and measurement and program evaluation. She received MS and PhD degrees from Cornell University, earned her BA in Psychology at Temple University, and an MSEd in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
Commenting on her appointment, LaMar said: “I am looking forward to the next year and connecting with MLOA members and developing the programs and helping take the association in a new direction.”
