Ford Transit Van Begins Production At Kansas City Plant

Ford Motor Co. has begun producing its 2015 Transit full-size vans at its Kansas City assembly plant as its E-Series replacement and one of the most hotly anticipated commercial vehicles.

The Ford Transit will emerge this summer as a third competitor in an escalating market race in the chauffeured van market, now populated by the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and the Chrysler RAM Promaster. The Promaster debuted at the 2014 International LCT Show in Las Vegas along with the Ford Transit Van.
