Limos.com Introduces ForGround.com To Manage Business Travel Online

Posted on August 16, 2010

Former Hotwire.com team aims to save companies millions by giving business travelers access to the world's largest online competitive marketplace for limousine services.

HOUSTON -- LIMOS.COM unveiled a new business travel product last week during the National Business Travel Associated convention called ForGround.com.

The company expects FORGROUND.COM to save business travelers an average of 30% on chauffeured car services worldwide by combining its competitive online marketplace of local transportation suppliers with travel manager controls for policy settings and reporting.

"After our experience at Hotwire.com, we couldn't understand why there wasn't a super-easy way to search, compare and book car services online, like people love to do online with hotel rooms or airfares," said T.J. Clark, President and CEO of Limos.com in a statement. "And, it's been extremely challenging for companies to manage this category because travel managers don't have access to the right controls, which have been so successful in helping companies save millions in their air and hotel spend. So we set out to save business travelers time and money with the easy online access to the world's best local limousine companies -- and give travel managers the best controls over this tough category -- that's ForGround.com."

Clark states that FORGROUND provides 24-hour traveler support, $5 million insurance coverage over all rides booked via the site, and private-labeling for companies that would like to apply their own logo and web address (e.g., Acme.ForGround.com).

The ForGround.com team recently was joined by Leslie Bernauer who directed global travel for Lehman Brothers and managed a ground travel budget of more than $50 million per year.

"We were thrilled that Leslie joined us to bring her wealth of expertise to our product -- and to help our travel manger clients directly," Clark said.

FORGROUND.COM was featured in an NBTA Spotlight presentation on Monday, where Clark stated that users from more than 4,000 companies signed up for the service during its two month beta period. He said that ForGround.com offers all of its online services for free with no online booking fees. The service is live and travelers or their travel mangers can create free accounts at Forground.com.
