Wisconsin Partners for Clean Air presented the operator with the 2009 Recognition Award for its efforts to reduce emissions, conserve fuel, and create a recycling program.

GERMANTOWN, Wisc. -- Riteway Bus Service, Inc. recently was awarded the 2009 Wisconsin Partners for Clean Air (WPCA) Recognition Award for its efforts to improve Wisconsin's air quality. The presentation was made to Ronald Bast and Rochelle Bast, president and vice president respectively, during the Wisconsin Partners for Clean Air Extravaganza held on May 20.

The WPCA is a coalition comprised of about 300 businesses, community organizations, schools and government agencies committed to improving air quality through voluntary action. WPCA educates Wisconsin businesses and residents on air quality issues and encourages behavior to improve air quality and reduce harmful air emissions as required by the federal Clean Air Act.

The Bast family believes that a sustainable business is important for the environment and the future. Riteway has eco-friendly policies and procedures are in place to address emission reduction and fuel conservation and Riteway operates vehicles that meet the new EPA guidelines. Other "green" initiatives by Riteway include a recycling program, digital imaging, energy efficient lighting, and video conferencing for all locations.

"We're very pleased to have received the recognition award from Wisconsin Partners for Clean Air and support their vision and commitment to cleaner air for Wisconsin and the future," Ronald Bast said.

Riteway has been family owned and operated since 1957. The company operates from eight locations in southeastern and central Wisconsin with a fleet of more than 500 vehicles. Riteway prides itself on providing the best, most dependable and safest transportation for schoolchildren, business travelers, tourists and local residents.
