1-800-GET-LIMO launches iPhone application for operator quotes on sedans, SUVs, and limousines

CARLSBAD, CA — With mobile devices such as the iPhone becoming ever more central to the lives of passengers and in some cases replacing the laptop as the computing tool of choice for many travelers, chauffeured transportation companies are racing to accommodate the need to bring their business offerings to the mobile world.

The new "GetLimo" application uses the iPhone user's GPS coordinates to locate his or her position on a map, then displays nearby 1-800-GET-LIMO National Limousine Network affiliates. Users can quickly zoom in or out to find luxury transportation providers throughout the country, or simply choose a different location from a drop-down menu of cities. With one click, the iPhone user can request a quote or call for a reservation.

Available for free at the Apple iTunes store, the new GetLimo app is designed to give corporate travelers a reservation tool that is "platform neutral," working whether the passenger prefers to call, to go online, or to click on an iPhone app.

1-800-GET-LIMO members do not pay any fees or commissions for quote requests or calls received through the new iPhone app, in keeping with the underlying 1-800-GET-LIMO business model which is to license specific area code extensions on the 1-800-GET-LIMO network to each affiliate for the affiliate's exclusive use in promoting the affiliate's own business.
