The nation's first limousine/ground transportation partner in the EPA Climate Leaders program is first again, setting the bar one rung higher in ground transportation emission management and reduction.
BEDFORD HILLS, N.Y. - MTC Limousine and Corporate Coach has taken another giant leap toward an environmentally sustainable operation by announcing that they have successfully completed their base year reporting requirements and Inventory Management Plan along with participating in the EPA Climate Leaders program, meeting all of the requirements of the EPA.
As the country's largest GHG goal-setting program, Climate Leaders is an EPA industry-government partnership that works with companies to develop comprehensive climate change strategies.
Launched in 2002, the program has expanded from 11 charter members to 284 companies that represent more than 8% of total annual U.S. greenhouse gas emissions. Program partners represent a broad range of industry sectors and companies with a combined annual revenue equal to 12% of the U.S. gross domestic product.
"MTC Limousine is serving as the gold-standard for establishing the parameters and plans for all ground transportation companies that want to establish real, measurable and transparent emission reduction programs" said Pat Charla, president of Limousine Environmental Partners, which coordinates all of MTC Limousine's emission tracking, reporting, and sustainability planning.
MTC has been pursuing a low-carbon business strategy since 2002 and it became the first ground transportation company to join the Climate Leaders Program and agreed to voluntarily reduce the emissions related to its operations and, more importantly, its fleet.
"While we don't normally spend a lot of time talking about what we are doing, we are just getting it done," said Trevor Franklin, president of MTC Limousine.
The final step of the process - the green house gas reduction goals that the company is commiting to - is in process.
Charla said release of this information will be made within the next several weeks. Once done, MTC will annually report its progress to the EPA.
