SANTA CLARA, Calif. El Paseo Limousine is operating 10 propane-powered buses for Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority's Altamont Commuter Express (ACE) Shuttle program.

ACE operates a commuter rail service between the central California city of Stockton and San Jose. The propane-fueled buses transfer 1,000 riders each day between the Great America ACE station and workplaces throughout the Silicon Valley. El Paseo Limousine's contract with the Valley Transportation Authority is part of a strategy to reduce carbon emissions for both the executive transportation company and the transportation authority.

For the 10 propane powered buses, six can carry 38 passengers and two passengers with wheelchair positions, and four of the buses carry 30 passengers and two wheelchair positions.

The propane conversion system was supplied by Clean Fuel USA, and was converted at Creative Bus Sales in Chino, Calif. These are part of El Paseo Limousine's 65-vehicle fleet, which also includes five compressed natural gas (CNG) powered buses. El Paseo Limousine has been committed to providing its clients and the community with green transportation alternatives.

El Paseo Limousine has been a member of the Limousine Environmental Action Partners (LEAP) for the past three years. LEAP, a non-profit organization, provides sustainable strategies for the future of executive ground transportation.

Being active in LEAP and now providing propane buses to Valley Transportation Authority all fits in to El Paseo Limousine's goal of making a difference.

"We're doing our part for the environment," says James Brown, chief executive officer of El Paseo Limousine. "Propane-powered buses made the most sense to provide reduced carbon emissions for Valley Transportation Authority passengers. We're also very pleased to provide clean, comfortable buses that show up on time, and are driven by superior, well trained chauffeurs."

El Paseo Limousine is a division of Worldwide Ground Transportation Solutions, Inc., along with Silicon Valley Corporate Transportation Solutions.

Santa Clara-based El Paseo Limousine has been in operation since 1987. The company provides transportation services for corporate clients including shuttle services for their employees, and for special events and social outings.
