EmpireCLS Teams Up with Green Ride Global

NORWOOD, N.J. — EmpireCLS Worldwide, the third-largest operator in the industry, has rolled out its environmental sustainability program — a partnership with Toronto-based Green Ride Global to monitor and reduce its carbon emissions.

 

The operator will issue regular reports to clients on its progress. EmpireCLS wants to reduce its carbon emissions 20 percent by 2013.

 

As part of its efforts, EmpireCLS will inflate fleet tires with nitrogen, encourage suppliers to adopt effective green practices and implement a stronger waste management and recycling program.

 

 

EmpireCLS CEO David Seelinger believes the green program will boost the company’s ability to land new corporate contracts. Seelinger would like to conver the company's fleet from 5% hybrid to all-hybrid within five years, but he said manufacturers still need to produce vehicles with adequate trunk space since hybrids need additional space of batteries. EmpireCLS featured a Lexus hybrid sedan as part of its exhibit; the vehicle is becoming a more popular request in its fleet portfolio.
