UK Chauffeur Network Is First European Member of Green Ride Global

Posted on March 18, 2009

READING, United Kingdom — UK Chauffeur Network, a chauffeured transportation company serving greater London, has implemented an ISO 14001-compliant Environmental Management System through its new membership with Green Ride Global (GRG) – a Toronto-based firm that creates and implements environmental sustainability programs for the ground transportation industry.

Amid increased environmental awareness and concerns around climate change on the rise, UK Chauffeur Network has initiated industry leading carbon reduction strategies, including:

• Running over 95% of fleet on 100% biodiesel

• Implementing car sharing software which identifies and highlights any opportunity for travellers to share a vehicle, reducing costs and emissions

• Evaluating, testing and implementing the latest in alternative fuel vehicle technology

• Measuring, monitoring and reporting on all aspects of their carbon footprint

Lance Dooley, CEO of UK Chauffeur Network, identified the need to integrate environmental sustainability into ground transportation operations early on. “Our corporate clients are establishing their own environmental goals and are looking to their suppliers to work in tandem with their sustainability commitments,” Dooley says.

As UK Chauffeur Network’s third-party environmental sustainability program verifier, Green Ride Global will be auditing and reporting on the greenhouse gas reduction results achieved by UK Chauffeur Network. Inside of the Green Ride Global network of ground transportation providers on the path to environmental sustainability, UK Chauffeur Network is the first Green Ride Global member in Europe.

Formed in 1996, UKCN have evolved into one of the UK’s largest fleets focussed solely on the requirements of the corporate sector. It is a preferred supplier to several of the world’s leading corporations, including Dell, DHL, and Avis among many others. The company’s fleet of Mercedes & BMW saloon cars provide coverage throughout the British Isles, coordinated from their head office which is less than 20 miles from Heathrow airport in the heart of the UK’s silicon valley.
