LCT Show East Was Filled With Opps

From new products to great educational stuff, I brought home value!
Well, here I am back at my desk in Bakersfield, Calif., after attending LCT Show East in Atlantic City, N.J. earlier this week. While the show lasted only three days, it seems as if I have been gone from home forever. Well, maybe I was. I left my home on Friday morning at 6:30 and didn’t get home until 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday night. That’s six days away from home. The trip was totally worth it for me for so many reasons.

I attended many educational sessions that provided me with great knowledge and helps me keep up with the ever-changing DOT laws affecting DOT regulated vehicles and drivers. I also learned more about social media usage, dispatching management and even accident scene management. Gary Buffo (Pure Luxury Transportation), president of the NLA and a former police officer, along with Chris Quinn (Corporate Transportation Solutions), a current fire department captain presented a wealth of information about planning for a crash. Rich Azzolino (Gateway Worldwide) also contributed from the dispatcher “readiness” standpoint.

My favorite part of the Show was working the LCT booth all day. I truly enjoyed meeting so many people who complimented my writing, commented on particular stories I have written of value to them, and many just came by to say hello. Connecting with readers one-on-one is always a great opportunity for me because I always take their ideas for future articles back to LCT management. Although I have been in the business for 20 years, I haven’t seen it and done it all and spending the time at industry functions helps me come up with topics that are of value and interest to you.
I got to spend time with truly successful people in the industry such as Gary Buffo, Ron Stein, Chris Quinn, Laura and Jeff Canady, Jeff Greene and the legendary Scott Solombrino. That just doesn’t happen every day. It was well worth the trip.
