One of the things I especially like about being editor of LCT Magazine is getting operators into a more thought-provoking mode, on topics that would be considered sensitive third rails. I’ll be hosting the latest version of the Fast <40 Panel during the LCT Show East on Tuesday morning, Oct. 29.

Our first Fast <40 Panel session during the LCT Leadership Summit in Miami Beach on June 10 — broken up into three sub-panels — proved successful in formally launching the limousine industry’s first-ever group of professionals around the age of 40 and under dedicated to looking ahead and exploring business ideas, tools and strategies for the industry.

Hopefully, we’ll be pushing all the right buttons next week on the topics of dynamic (flex pricing), mobile on-demand influences, expanding beyond traditional VIP/corporate markets, driverless cars, and of course, the seismic changes ahead as Gens X and Y moves up the ranks of operators and chauffeured clients.

Please join me and operators Matt Assolin of Nikko’s Worldwide in Houston; Kyara Kahakauwila of L.A. Limousines in Victoria, B.C.; Jorge Sanchez of Hermes Worldwide in Denver, Danny Bacher of Topper Worldwide in Atlanta, and Sami Elotmani of Destination MCO for a discussion Tuesday at 9 a.m. at Caesars Atlantic City. There’ll be a Q&A period following the discussion, so bring your insights and counter-points for the panelists.

My colleague, senior editor Tim Crowley, and I will be hosting a LCT Fast <40 hospitality suite Sunday evening in the Ocean Tower of Caesars from 9 a.m. to midnight. Rumor has it that former LCT associate editor-turned-social media guru Michael Campos will be mingling in the mix. Be sure to check out Michael’s seminar Monday at 10:20 a.m. called “The ‘NO DOWN TIME’ Social Media Marketing Campaign for Retail Business.” Michael is the poster boy for the new generation of media-types, combining his digital and social media skills (and a literary mind) into his compelling new venture, Dash 30 Digital Media.

We have a lot of plans for the future of Fast <40: We plan to launch this quarter a web page of Fast <40 profiles; a Fast <40 blog; and plans for another panel session at the 2014 International LCT Show in Las Vegas Feb. 16-18. Meanwhile, be sure to “Like” Fast <40 on Facebook, at

LCT Fast <40 represents a new opportunity for the limousine industry and it symbolizes the long-overdue, more forward-thinking, new industry chapter LCT is opening up next week in Atlantic City, N.J. It’s time to leave the past behind.
