South Park Spoofs Uber Battle

Many of the topics you find regularly here in LCT Magazine and LCTMag.com, were given the animated comedy treatment last night in South Park’s latest episode “Handicar.” Handicar is a mobile app used by character “Timmy,” that he signs up to drive for.

In the episode, Handicar gives handicapped individuals a license to give rides to people who book on their smartphones. Timmy picks them up in an open wagon pulled by his electric wheelchair, with a dining table for two propped up in the back.

The trademark silliness of South Park is interspersed with little poignant observations, most coming from the lackey “Mimzy,” who assists a rival to Timmy intent on ruining his business.

If you missed it, you can watch the full episode here on Hulu.

If you’re in the limo industry, you’ll definitely find some clips that hit home. There’s a scene from an association meeting, and Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk gets the full South Park treatment as he battles against Handicar from his Tesla with glowing flux capacitor above the trunk.

The second half of the episode features a car race styled after the old cartoon TV show “Wacky Races.”

If you can use a laugh this Friday, watch the episode. It’ll provide you with clever jokes for the next time you talk to other limo operators about these topics.
