New Luxury Chauffeur On-Demand App In Town

The latest software app to promise immediate pickup is Toro Ride, which also bills itself as the upper echelon of chauffeur service. I first read of the app through InsideHook, which has a small press release on the company and promo code to get $40 off the first ride.

You can tell from the website they are offering premium vehicles like the Mercedes S-Class, Escalade, and even a Rolls Royce Ghost. And according to InsideHook the company will offer armored cars starting next month, via the Texas Armoring Corporation.

I wanted take a closer look at the service, but the app did not process my registration. It gave me the frustrating, “does not accept password” though I was sure I was typing it correctly. Then I requested a new password be sent to my email, and I haven’t received any email as of yet.

So it seems there are still some bugs to be worked out. But the company is worth noting. As more and more transportation companies utilize mobile on-demand booking, we’ll likely see more niches popping up for different markets. If UberX and Lyft are for the cheapest riders, it looks like Toro will be for the most expensive.

Who knows, maybe this armored stretch Brinks truck could one day become only a click away from arriving at your doorstop.
