THEY'D RATHER STOP AT STUCKEY'S: There have been enough horror stories of trapped airline passengers stuck without potable water and food to underscore the virtues of going ground — at least for inter-city travel within a few hundred miles. The latest support from the National Business Travel Association for an AIRLINE PASSENGERS BILL OF RIGHTS reminds us why chauffeured and charter transportation are worthwhile alternatives to air travel. Operators should be promoting this message in appealing to the cost-conscious traveler that still seeks convenience and comfort -- and in an emergency, a roadside rest area or service station. – M.R.
