LIMOLAND ON THE BRINK: The situation in California is desperate. Unemployment gets worse by day the day. (From 11.2% to 11% (decrease due to increase in government jobs)). The entertainment business is leaving Southern California for any state or country that is not so anti-business. In 2008, 100 movies were made in Hollywood. In 2009, three movies were made.

The transportation industry is partner to two of the largest contributors to California’s economy, tourism and entertainment. Our entrepreneurial partners range from single car operators to large nationwide corporations. As of this date, there are 6,000 companies licensed by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). The Greater California Livery Association (GCLA) estimates that 30% are in the “revoked” category and we anticipate actual companies revoked will increase by year end.

The “anti-business” climate in the cities and state of California are causing much of the pain Californians are enduring. The GCLA intends to hold our politicians from California responsible. We will be keeping track and telling our members who is voting for the business/travel/services sector of our economy and who is not. We are going to find out who are friends are.
