MORRISTOWN, N.J. - A 68-year-old Morristown man has been charged with hitting his wife in the head with a full champagne bottle in the back seat of a limousine.
Donald Toresco, 68, has been charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes in connection with the Friday, Oct. 24 incident.
According to an affidavit filed in state Superior Court, Toresco and his wife, Robin, were on their way home from the Marriott in Bridgewater in the back seat of a limousine when he hit her in the head with the bottle.
The wife had a cut about three inches long and one inch deep above her right eye, according to the affidavit.
A doctor in the emergency room at Morristown Memorial Hospital told police that Robin Toresco had a fractured skull and might need plastic surgery, the affidavit indicated.
Donald Toresco posted $50,000 bail set by Superior Court Judge Victor Ashrafi. The judge also ordered him to have no contact with Robin Toresco.
