ERIE, Penn. — With a new product line and a change in ownership, LGE Coachworks has positioned itself to embrace a growing bus market in the luxury transportation industry.

Since LCT last profiled LGE in December 2015, the company adopted a new ownership structure, making David Sacco the sole owner after a partner buyout.

“I was adamant about the direction of this company and maintaining the integrity it started with,” Sacco told LCT. “I want the industry to know LGE Coachworks has continued business as usual and we are committed to not only our longtime customers, but are looking forward to the continued growth and development of new customers.”

Quality Boost
In 2017, LGE Coachworks debuted its new Signature Series bus product line, which has appealed to many clients. The line is available on the E450, F550, and Freightliner chassis, and has been redesigned from the ground up on the Elkhart Custom Design Platform.

Earlier in the year, LGE launched its Signature Series A Premium Exterior, comprised of a gel coat composite that will not dent or corrode like traditional metals. It’s much stronger than fiberglass and as easy to repair.

“The chauffeured transportation industry is always changing,” Sacco said. “We at LGE Coachworks recognize that change and developed this partnership. We like giving our customers options. By adding another product line, we are now able to offer any and all operators a product to fit their market and budget.”

In many ways, “LGE builds are an excellent fit for any operator who is looking for equipment that will attract and keep corporate or retail clients,” says Dan Rocky, senior sales specialist.

LGE uses only the highest quality materials in its builds, he says. “We refuse to use lesser materials in an effort to ‘cut corners.’ This equates to a luxury built piece of equipment that delivers an excellent passenger experience for the life of the vehicle. Ultimately, we offer investment solutions to operators through a product set designed and engineered with the operator and their ROI in mind.”

Chris Skrekla, director of marketing and sales, looks forward to unveiling a new concept at the International LCT Show that will change how operators choose and build LGE luxury transportation vehicles.

Solidly American
LGE promotes a “Made in America” approach in its products and company values. Hard work and dedication are qualities every employee at LGE Coachworks follows, Sacco says.

“Our recent accolades of being featured as a “Made In America” business is worn as a badge of honor,” he says. “If you have ever visited the LGE Coachworks facility you cannot miss the HUGE American flag hanging in the shop as well as LGE employees proudly wearing shirts with the American flag on their shoulders.”

LGE products are constructed with American made, locally sourced materials. By purchasing an LGE Coachworks product, operators are ensuring personal success as well as the success of other small to medium-sized suppliers of raw materials.

Seeing its success in tandem with the success of customers is one attribute the company follows closely, says Chris Skrekla, marketing and sales specialist for LGE. “At LGE Coachworks we are committed to the customer from idea to reality.”

New Buyers’ Tool

The company is developing a new concept intended to “revolutionize” the way operators shop and prefer to build their new luxury transportation vehicles.

“Our marketing team has partnered with other local companies to develop this new tool and we are excited to be unveiling it at the International LCT Show in 2018,” Skrekla says. “We expect it to be the most talked about concept at the Las Vegas Show (March 12-14).”

In sum, LGE sees its renewed company bringing together operator relationships, customer feedback, small town craftsmanship, superior quality, and efficient service. And you can talk to owner/president David Sacco directly.

“There is no greater asset when choosing a coachbuilder than having direct contact with a hands-on business owner, which is why I chose LGE Coachworks to build four new buses for my company,” said Jon Bresler of Pro Limo in Cape Cod and Boston, Mass., in an email. “From their sales and office team to David himself, the open lines of communication are key. Factor in a substantially lower cost compared to ‘the big box stores,’ a higher quality of materials, and complete autonomy in custom design to my specific and exact requests, it is an absolute recipe for success.”
