LCT Celebrates 20 Years of Publishing ‘Firsts’

For two decades, LCT has earned leadership status by consistently pushing the industry to new heights. The editorial and sales staff at LCT prides themselves on being first: for producing the most innovative magazine in the industry and for providing the best researched information an operator can find anywhere.

We take pride in sharing LCT’s many achievements that have helped shape the chauffeured transportation industry.

1983 – 1987

1983 – Launched the first-ever limousine trade publication

1983 – Bobit Publishing acquired L&C Magazine

1984 – Launched the first ever trade show for the limousine industry, the LCT Show

1986 – Assembled the industry’s first Fact Book, reporting industry statistics

1986 – Created the first supplier Buyer’s Guide

1986 – LCT/Bobit Publishing president became honorary founding member of the NLA

 

1988 – 1993

1989 – Appointed the first-ever Editorial Advisory Board of industry experts

1990 – Established the Operator of the Year Award 

1990 – Entered into an exclusive show endorsement with the NLA

1991 – First and only industry trade magazine to be honored with an editorial award

1991 – First and only industry trade magazine to document the Top 50 Livery Fleet Operators

1993 – Exclusively began promoting QVM & CMC limousines at the LCT Show

 

1994 – 1998

1994 – First industry trade magazine to accept advertising from only QVM and CMC certified coachbuilders

1994 - Honored for Bobit Publishing’s Best Cover (November)

1995 - First to report on the ˝State of the Industry˝ at the LCT Show

1995 – Honored for Bobit Publishing’s Best News Section

1996 – Launched the LCT Educational Video Library

1996 – First industry trade magazine to establish the ˝Association Award of Excellence˝

1996 – First industry trade magazine to construct an Internet Web site

1996 – Won five graphics awards and one editorial award for the Best News Section

1997 – Changed name of magazine for better target market positioning

1997 – Signed first formal show endorsement contract with the NLA

1997 – First industry trade magazine to report on the new Lincoln Town Car

1998 – Celebrated 15 years of publication

1998 – Only industry trade magazine to report on the country’s best and worst airports

1998 – Surveyed the entire industry for most comprehensive statistical data to date

 

1999 – 2003

1999 – First and only industry trade magazine elected to the NLA Board of Directors

1999 – First and only industry trade magazine invited to help guide the legislative process of HR1689

1999 – First industry trade magazine to report on the new Cadillac DeVille

1999 – Honored as Bobit Publishing’s Best News Section for the third straight year

2000 – Launched the LCT Scholarship Program

2000 – Launched LCT Leadership Summit

2000 – First and only industry trade magazine to launch exclusive Top 50 Fleet Operators issue

2001 – Launched the first online industry newsletter, the Driving Force

2001 – Signed three-year exclusive show endorsement contract with the NLA

2001 – First to feature the redesigned 2003 Lincoln Town Car

2001 – Expanded Top 50 to Top 75 Operators & profiled largest operators per state

2002 – Expanded the Operator of the Year Award to include the Best Operator of National Fleets

2002 – Held the first trade show in the world to showcase the new 2003 redesigned Lincoln Town Car

2002 – Honored with an Exclusive Show Sponsorship by Ford Motor Company

2002 – First industry trade magazine to launch a complete ˝Bumper-to-Bumper Repair Guide˝

2002 – Awarded the contract to operate and manage the NLA headquarter offices

2003 – Ty Bobit receives Industry Achievement Award
