Wayne Smith Co. Acquired By HCI

Host Communications Inc. (HCI), a Lexington, KY-based communications, marketing, and management firm, has announced its acquisition of the Wayne Smith Co., based in Alexandria, VA.

The Wayne Smith Co. is a marketing and association management firm with clients in the tourism, transportation, and entertainment fields.

While better known for its involvement in collegiate sports marketing, publishing, and broadcasting, HCI has also served as a trade association management firm for more than 24 years. Its clients include the National Tour Association, National Tour Foundation, Travel Buyer’s Association, and Travel and Tourism Research Association. 

According to Jim Host, HCI’s chairman and CEO, the acquisition allows HCI to immediately expand its association management client base and generate added revenue for all groups through corporate marketing.

Wayne Smith, founder and CEO of the Wayne Smith Co., will continue to direct the activities of the companies. Current clients include the National Limousine Association and the United Motorcoach Association.
