The Lincoln limousine carrying President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963 when he was assassinated is being recreated by Terry Gookin of Oregon Classic Coachworks. Kennedy’s vehicle, a Hess & Eisenhardt Company limousine, was remodeled several times during its use by Presidents Johnson, Nixon, Ford, and Carter and is now a part of the Henry Ford Automotive Museum in Dearborn, MI.

Gookin has acquired the original specifications of the vehicle from several sources, including the Secret Service, in order to build an exact replica of the vehicle as it was when used by Kennedy. Because the original car had parts from both ’61 and ’62 Lincolns, Gookin has acquired cars from each of those years for use on the project.
