David Klein, Dav-El Founder Passes Away

David Klein, founder of Dav-El Limousines, died of cancer on Wednesday, March 16. He was 42 years old and resided in New York City and Lake Placid, NY.

Until 1987, Mr. Klein owned and operated the New York-based com­pany which he founded in 1971. Be­ginning with just one car, which he personally drove, Klein built a $10 million business with domestic and international affiliates in many of the world's major cities. He also founded New York's only school for chauffeurs.

Mr. Klein's philanthropic activities included longtime support of the American Ballet Theater and the Endymion Ensemble, a chamber music organization.
