Playing to Win--Cashing in on Casino Work

In airports across the country they stick out like a black tuxedo with brown shoes. They are formally dressed chauffeurs holding signs lettered with ?Trump,? ?The Mirage? or ?Bellagio.? They are chauffeurs working directly or indirectly for hotel casinos around the country. Has gaming actually translated into big bucks for the limousine industry?and if so, how can you as an operator get your share of the stakes?

Casino gambling, lotteries and other games of chance have certainly had an impact on other segments of the economy. Legislators throughout the country view gaming as a solution to budget shortfalls. Detroit, MI, brought casinos to its blighted downtown. Louisiana, Missouri and Mississippi brought riverboat gambling back to life. And perhaps most significantly, the federal government recognized the sovereignty of Indian lands, and native American tribal governments have built their own casinos in numerous locations, including Arizona, California, Colorado and Connecticut. Limousine operators in states where casino gambling has been legalized salivate at the thought of all those gamblers in need of transportation.
