Ford and Cadillac’s livery incentive programs include cash back at purchase and free extended warranties.
Cash-back incentives can be applied toward a down payment, which can help lower monthly expenses, or they can be pocketed and used at the operator’s discretion.
Livery warranty incentives cover vehicles for up to 150,000 miles or six years.
Ford reintroduced in July end-user cash-back incentives on 2003 Town Car and Excursion limousines, as well as 2003 and 2004 Town Car livery and “L” series sedans.
Ford’s 2004 Town Cars have been on sale since May.
Incentives for 2003 Ford models sold after July 1:
* 535 Livery Sedans: $4,000. Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price is $41,360 for the 2003 Lincoln Executive Livery Sedan and $44,750 for the 2003 “L” Series Livery Sedan.
* 418 Limousines built by a Qualified Vehicle Manufacturer: $2,000. Incentives for 2004 Ford models:
* 535 Livery Sedans - $2,750. MSRP on the 2004 Executive Lincoln Livery Sedan is $41,125 and $44,995 on the 2004 “L” Series Livery Sedan.
* Ford had not announced plans to offer a cash incentive for 2004 limousines. Check www.lctmag.com for further updates.
Incentives on 2003 vehicles are good until December. Incentives on 2004 vehicles last until December 2004. Both programs may be extended, according to Mike Bedard, Ford’s limousine & livery manager.
There is an additional $795 destination fee for all Lincoln sedans. MSRP cannot be calculated on limousines since coachbuilders set their own pricing.
Ford also offers extended warranty incentives on livery vehicles that are significantly beefed up over the standard warranty.
Ford’s ExtraCARE Extended Service Plan and Limousine Limited Warranties cover more than 100 key components, including power steering, brakes, suspension, engine, transmission, rear wheel drive, air conditioning & heating and electrical components.
* 535 Livery Sedans 2003 model year: three-year/150,000-mile livery ExtraCare ESP.
* 418 Limousines built on a 2003 chassis by a QVM: three-year/150,000-mile ExtraCare Lincoln limited warranty.
* 535 Livery Sedans 2004 model year: four-year/150,000-mile livery ExtraCare ESP.
* 418 Limousines built on a 2004 chassis by a QVM: four-year/150,000-mile ExtraCare Lincoln limited warranty.
The conversion on limousines is covered by coachbuilder warranties. Limousines built by non-QVM coachbuilders are not covered by Ford’s warranties.
Ford limousine and livery coverage carries a $50 deductible and is transferable to future owners for a $50 fee. Restrictions include:
* Hearses: QVM hearse conversions (419) are eligible for purchase of retail ESP coverage. Lincoln dealers can provide pricing and registration details.
* Florida vehicles: Town Car Livery (535) and Excursion Limo purchases in that state do not include free ESP coverage because of unique regulations. However, these plans may be purchased from local dealers.
Availability, benefits, coverage, and provider may vary by state. Refer to your contract for specific provisions. Not every dealership specializes in the livery industry – so if you’re concerned you are not getting the proper incentives, check with Ford.

These end-user cash incentives are for Cadillac livery and funeral operators:
2003 DeVille, DTS and DHS models: two incentives totaling $6,000. MSRP on the 2003 DeVille Livery Sedan is $44,560.
2003 Cadillac Funeral Coaches (B9Q) and Limousines (V4U): two incentives totaling $2,000.

Operators May Save With Fleet or Retail Incentives
Livery incentives have historically been higher than retail or fleet incentives. However, operators should note that there may be fleet or retail enticements available on vehicles not included in Ford’s livery programs – including the Ford Crown Victoria, Ford E-350 van or Lincoln Navigator.
Operators cannot combine these programs with livery incentives, according to Mike Bedard, Ford’s limousine & livery manager.
But it never hurts to ask, adds Barry Trabb, president of Universal Limousine Distributors in Wayne, N.J.
In order to qualify for fleet incentives at Ford, operators must have a Fleet Identification Number and have bought or leased five or more new vehicles during the past year or currently have a fleet of 15 or more vehicles.
