LAS VEGAS — At the Int’l LCT Show, LCT Magazine got an up-close look at a fully compliant stretch limo in accordance with California’s new law SB109, which requires all stretch limousines of 10 passengers or fewer to have either two pop-out windows or a single pop-out window combined with a rooftop exit hatch. The law also mandates that all new stretches purchased after July 1, 2015 have a fifth door near the chauffeur partition.
LA Custom Coach general manager James Checo gives a walk-through of all the safety features on this Chrysler 300 140-in. 10-passenger stretch. Along with the fifth door and pop-out windows, the vehicle has two fire extinguishers, one in the passenger cabin and one in the driver compartment, a Janus Driver Cam on the rear-view mirror, and a window hammer situated near the rear window.
The new stretch offers a great look into what the new fully-compliant California stretches will look like, and as the laws become enforced, expect to hear more about these types of stretches rolling out from different coachbuilders.
