Penn. Operator Likes XTS-L So Much He’s Buying Another

Posted on July 3, 2013

YARDLEY, Penn. — Lou Jammer of Afton Limousine Service had a hunch the Cadillac XTS-L sedan would be chauffeured vehicle worth putting into his fleet.

He saw it for the first time in February at the International LCT Show in Las Vegas. Since the XTS-L he saw was a prototype and would take a few months to be available for sale, he ordered one shortly before the LCT Leadership Summit in Miami Beach last month. He bought the one on display at the Ritz-Carlton South Beach, flying down a chauffeur after the conference ended June 11 to drive it back to Pennsylvania.

What he didn’t bargain for, though, was the swift and intense reaction of his clients.

“The feedback from customers is that it has been overwhelmingly successful to the point that people told us to put on their account profiles that ‘I don’t want to have any car except this one. I don’t want the Town Car any longer,’” Jammer said.

As a result, Jammer ordered his second XTS-L from Acton Fleet Sales on Thursday. It will be delivered in a few weeks.
“This car really has from the legroom and everything,” Jammer said. “It’s as if the Town Car lives with a different name on it. The chauffeurs love it, too.”

The XTS-L is stretched version of the 2013 Cadillac XTS livery sedan that includes a center B-pillar lengthened by seven inches and OEM rear doors and glass. The nationwide chauffeured vehicle dealer network of Acton Fleet Sales/SoCal Penske has an exclusive contract with Specialty Vehicle Group of Amelia, Ohio to manufacture the XTS-L. The XTS-L is built according to approved specs under the Cadillac Master Coachbuilder (CMC) program. It has a starting price of $52,733, compared to $43,495 for the W20 Cadillac XTS livery sedan.

Jammer installed TVs into the back of the front seat headrests, which has proven popular with long-distance clients. Afton Limousine Service also makes iPads available for chauffeured clients. “Some people use us three days a week, others we do affiliate work for,” Jammer said. “The word is spreading that that car is definitely the favored car in its size.”

The addition of the XTS-Ls to Afton’s eight-vehicle fleet will help with client retention and enable the company to grow, Jammer said.
