JOHNSTOWN, N.Y. and MARLTON, N.J. -- Don Brown Bus Sales, one of the leading sellers of mini-buses and coaches to the chauffeured transportation industry, is offering NLA members $1,000 off per select bus models as part of a first-of-its-kind partnership program between the National Limousine Association and a major bus distributor.
Details of the plan were finalized Thursday, which creates a win-win-win: 1) Discounts on select buses for operators; 2) More sales for Don Brown; 3) More members and financial support for the NLA.
The three-part program originated with Don Brown general sales manager A.J. Thurber, NLA executive director Philip Jagiela, and LCT Publisher and Show Chair Sara Eastwood-McLean, with input from various NLA board directors.
Here's how the three-part program works:
1. Don Brown Bus Sales will pay the first year of NLA membership for operators/customers who make purchases and are NOT active NLA members, but interested in joining, in an effort to increase the membership and support of the NLA.
2. The seller will provide the NLA with a rebate of $250 per every vehicle sold to an active NLA member.
This amount will be paid quarterly and awarded at each quarterly face-to-face NLA board of directors meeting for business transacted within the previous quarter. All Don Brown sales records qualifying for the rebate will be turned over to the the NLA.
3. Don Brown Bus Sales will provide any active NLA member with a $1,000 rebate off its best advertised and final selling price. The rebate amount can either come in the form of additional discount on the purchase or a check for $1,000 sent directly to the NLA member's business after the sale is final. The method will be determined by the client accordingly. The internal procedure for the Don Brown sales staff will simply be to sell the bus as a normal transaction. Administrative staff members will determine and verify qualification of the rebate by contacting purchasers for documents after the sale.
In an interview this week with LCT, Thurber said the rebate program with the NLA is a natural extension of its industry association support since 2009 when it started actively marketing and selling to the limousine industry. Don Brown Bus Sales has sponsored and/or supported events and programs at such groups as the Limousine Associations of New Jersey, the New England Limousine Association, the Limousine Bus Taxi Operators of Upstate New York, Long Island Limousine Association, Philadelphia Regional Limousine Association, Greater California Livery Association, and limousine associations in Dallas and Houston.
Thurber said Don Brown Bus Sales is an NLA member and a proud supporter of many regional limousine associations nationwide. "We firmly believe in giving back to those that support our business by supporting the growth of the industry as a whole and the greater good for all of us," he said. "We hope to call this industry home for many years to come."
The permanent program formally launches at the International LCT Show and will be in effect during Show floor sales hours Feb. 5-7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas as well as for any qualifying bus purchases thereafter.
Thurber assured NLA board directors that Don Brown is not inflating any prices to accommodate the discounts, and the rebates will be applied to regular competitive advertised sale prices. Don Brown Bus Sales distributes most major brand name buses and models used in chauffeured transportation fleets throughout the U.S.
