The staff at Prime Executive Transportation in Chantilly, Va., welcomes its first 2013 Lincoln MKT Town Car on Wedneday, March 21, 2012.
CHANTILLY, Va. — One of the first Lincoln MKT Town Cars landed at a Washington, D.C. area chauffeured transportation company today and could be ready for client service as early as Friday.
Two MKT Town Cars were delivered to Prime Executive Transportation in Chantilly, Va., about 22 miles west of Washington, D.C. Two more are headed there in about a month. Prime Executive bought the MKTs from Towne Livery in Orchard Park, N.Y., a national Lincoln livery dealer. The company says it is the first limousine operation on the East Coast to buy and take possession of this MKT model, the perfected production version that was displayed last month at the 2012 International LCT Show.
Prime Executive is a 30-vehicle operation that specializes almost exclusively in transportation for Fortune 500 clients, and serves the major airports of Dulles International, Reagan National and Baltimore-Washington International.
The four MKTs eventually will replace four Lincoln Town Car sedans that the company had been using, said Bill Verrill, director of operations. A Prime Executive staff member was at the Department of Motor Vehicles today getting tags and registrations squared away for a likely Friday service debut.
Director of operations Bill Verrill and his team are getting registrations for the company's new Lincoln MKT Town Cars and training chauffeurs for an anticipated Friday service debut of the vehicles.
In addition, Prime Executive was training chauffeurs via videos and classroom on all the features of the MKT Town Car. “You need training for all the bells and whistles on the MKT,” Verrill said. “It’s not a car you just put a guy into. We do classroom training and video presentations.”
The first production batch of the 2013 Lincoln MKT Town Car, successor the 2011 Lincoln Town Car Executive L, was trucked over the weekend to East Coast dealerships from the Ford plant in Oakville, Ontario. Given the volume of MKTs being dispersed and the various timing of deliveries to dealerships and clients, it is almost impossible to determine conclusively “who got it first.” But Prime Executive is the first chauffeured transportation company to contact LCT with an MKT in hand and set for service this week.
Prime Executive Transportation is owned by operator Umar Hyat who founded the company in 1995. It runs 18-20 sedans, four SUVs, four vans, and four buses.
