LONDON – Ferrari lawyers say that when Dan Cawley cut his 360 Modena in half and stretched it with a 9.5-foot carbon fiber section, the Ferrari ceased to be a Ferrari. The company is requesting him to remove everything associated with the brand from his car, claiming he is infringing on their trademark.

Cawley said he got the explicit approval from the manufacturer to turn their supercar into a limo. The limo is 20 feet long, seats eight people, and set the record for the fastest limousine and longest Ferrari ever built. The total cost for the conversion was around $300,000.

Chris Wright, who helped build the stretch Ferrari, is also behind the project to build the world’s first Audi R8 stretch limousine.
