WEST SUSSEX, England — Luxury automaker Rolls-Royce announced recently it sold 3,538 cars globally in 2010, the most ever in its 107-year history. The previous record was set in 1978 during the Silver Shadow II era. The company’s latest addition to the chauffeured transportation market, the Ghost extended wheelbase sedan, helped sales as it topped customer’s wishlists. Notable sales results were seen in Asia Pacific (+47%), North America (+17%) and the Middle East (+23%). China and the U.S. were the most significant individual markets for Rolls-Royce. In Continental Europe, Germany and Russia were the largest growth markets, each more than doubling sales compared to 2010.
