ONATRIO, Calif. — Coachbuilder Dominick Vitelli of Quality Coachworks has hit the market with the first units of two creative stretch limousines: A 2012 Lincoln MKT, 140-in., 5-door stretch limousine, and a green 2012 Dodge Challenger, 150-in. stretch limousine with fold-wing doors.

Vitelli said he developed the vehicle concepts by working with a client, D&G Limousine Service of New Jersey. The Quality stretch limousines are the first ones of those models ever built. The builder has received more orders for a few more units of each stretch model, Vitelli said.

Quality Coachworks is part of a regional industry of independent custom stretch limousine coachbuilders throughout Southern California that are seeing renewed demand for exotic and unique vehicles built to spec. Much of that demand is being driven by overseas clients in Asia, China, Australia, and Europe who like American-style stretch limousines.
For Quality Coachworks, limo orders from overseas clients have risen about 20% in this calendar year alone, Vitelli said. About 60% of the coachbuilder’s business now comes from foreign clients.
