Operator Jeff Greene just took delivery of two luxury executive vans.
ATLANTA — Jeff Greene did his homework this year before selecting two black luxury vans that will cut back on some logistical hassles.
The owner of GREEN CLASSIC LIMOUSINES WORLDWIDE TRANSPORTATION bought two Ford Executive Series EX11PL vans from NATIONAL VAN BUILDERS, after first seeing the models at the 2011 International LCT Show.
Before taking delivery May 25, Greene traveled to the National Van Builders plant in Attleboro, Mass to observe the company’s van conversion process and did his due diligence in determining how to find the quality and performance expected by his clients.
Greene Classic will use the 11-passenger (incl. driver) vans with rear luggage compartments for luxury road shows and shuttle services. The vans come equipped with leather captain’s chairs, a high-top roof, TV/DVD equipment, and luggage space that does not require moving around seats.

“One of the biggest problems we were having is with regular Ford E350 passengers,” said Greene, a former NLA President and board director. “It was a nightmare getting seats in and out for luggage space. If the driver pulled his back, that would be a worker’s comp issue. It made a lot of sense where we wouldn’t have to do this.” The new vans have captain’s chairs without benches, and a center aisle, he said. The raised roof eases getting in and out.
With his old vans, there was no room for luggage when carrying more than 10 passengers. To accommodate luggage for fewer than 10 passengers, a rear seat would have to be removed each time, Greene said.
Chauffeurs and clients love the converted Ford E150 vans, he said. So far, client groups have included hotel guests, executives, affiliate parties, and shuttle passengers.
The vans cost about $44,000 each plus delivery, Greene said. He projects the vans will generate an 18-20% profit margin at the rate of $80 per hour.
Rob Giacobbi, dealer sales manager for National Van Builders, Inc., told LCT that since the Executive Series Vans debuted in September 2010 at the LCT Summit in Chicago, they have been bought by operators in metro areas in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Georgia, and Florida, and in the cities of Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and Milwaukee.
