The “game-changer” green vehicle gets big attention in Boston in a report that quotes Steve Edelmann of Royale and Dawson Rutter of Commonwealth Worldwide.
BOSTON — The Ford Fusion Hybrd L made by Royale Limousine Manufacturers gained some added traction this week with a featured report on FOX-TV Channel 25 in Boston on how the stretched sedan meets an industry market niche for green vehicles that get good fuel economy but do not make big sacrifices on comfort and legroom.
The reporter broaches an interesting question that LCT mentioned on its blog several months ago: With the Lincoln Town Car being discontinued after the 2011 model year, will the Fusion Hybrid L gain some of the Town Car’s market share?
Royale debuted its Royale Fusion Hybrid L model on the show floor of the LCT Eastern Conference on Oct. 7, 2009. So far, the largest fleet buyer has been Dawson Rutter, the CEO of Boston-based Commonwealth Worldwide Chauffeured Transportation and an influential industry leader who sits on the board of the National Limousine Association and commands an extensive worldwide affiliate network.
Rutter now uses 21 of the Fusions in his Boston and New York fleets, which have supplanted client use of the Toyota Prius and some of the demand for Lincoln Town Cars.
