ATLANTA — One of the first convoys of 2015 Lincoln Navigator Ls for the limousine industry joined the fleet of operator Jeff Greene this week, marking the chauffeured service debut of the new SUV model.

Greene, owner of Greene Classic Limousines Worldwide, bought six of the black Navigators, which Lincoln redesigned and upgraded for the 2015 model year. He immediately put them into his chauffeured fleet, which now numbers 55 vehicles.

David Bastian, sales manager for Towne Livery in Orchard Park, N.Y., sold the fleet to Greene and had them delivered to a local Atlanta Lincoln dealership on Oct. 7. He said Greene is among the first operators in the U.S. to get the new Navigators.

Operators are being treated to a SUV horse race as Cadillac and Lincoln, the two foremost luxury brands in the limousine industry, have rolled out redesigned versions for 2015 of their luxury SUV models. Both the Navigator and Cadillac Escalade will be on display Oct. 20-21 during LCT-NLA Show East at the Atlantic City (N.J.) Convention Center.

Bastian pointed out that the Navigator has a few more inches of legroom for the third row seats and more cargo space when compared to the Escalade. [The Escalade has more front seat legroom. Both models have 39-in. of second-row legroom]. “The Navigator is a game-changer,” Bastian told LCT. “It’s larger and better priced. We’ll sell a lot of them.”

A comparison at AOL Autos lists invoice prices of $74,398 for the Escalade and $63,859 for the Navigator, with $995 destination charges for each.

For limousine operators, exact pricing ranges in the low $70,000s for the Escalade and low $60,000s for the Navigator depending on livery program rebates, negotiated prices with individual dealerships, and other factors and incentives. Livery dealerships generally do not publicize specific out-the-door fleet prices for competitive reasons.

Cadillac and Lincoln livery vehicle sales representatives will be available on the exhibit floor throughout LCT-NLA Show East to answer specific questions.
