The vintage 1954 Cadillac Fleetwood limousie doesn't always require the red carpet treatment, but it was once featured in the motion picture Godfather II.
After years of dreaming, their idea finally became a reality at a stoplight in downtown San Francisco.
Five years ago Rory and Karen Simmons came up with the concept of starting a nostalgic limousine service, but still had to search for the perfect car. One day two years later, while out for a drive, they happened to notice a “for sale” sign on a green 1954 Cadillac Fleetwood that had pulled up beside them. Rory wrote down the phone number and bought the car a week later. That was the beginning of Nostalgia Limousine in San Mateo, CA.
Almost a year later, Rory heard of a funeral parlor that was trying to sell a black 1959 Cadillac. Series 75 Fleetwood limousine. The car was used in the film Godfather II in 1973 and had been sitting for the past five years. It took three months to restore the car to its former pulchritude.
Both vehicles are equipped with stereos and tinted windows and seat six passengers. Nostalgia’s business consists mainly of weddings and Napa Valley Winery tours.
“It is a pleasure to see these classics still in service,” says Rory.
