A New Patriot Takes Off

Posted on July 1, 1991 by LCT Staff

Now that the last of the Patriot Missiles has flown over the charred landscape of the Middle East, there is a new Patriot on the horizon.

That Patriot belongs to Scott Ruge and John Riga, owners of California Limousine Corp. in Sacramento, CA, and is a red, white, and blue limousine being used to transfer home our war-weary soldiers in style.

The idea behind the Patriot began more than six months ago. With the help of over $15,000 in donated services, including a matching theme interior donated by Krystal Koach of Anaheim, CA, the limousine began to take on its patriotic look. The vehicle now sports the appearance of an American flag billowing in the wind. To top off the look, the symbol of a bald eagle was etched on top of the sunroof.

There are future plans for the Patriot that include celebrity figures signing the interior of the car relaying a special message thanking the troops for their valiant efforts.

“There has been overwhelming support received from this group effort,” Ruge says. “I think the American people were so fearful to see our young men and women leave to fight, that is why the willingness and excitement for their return has been so great.”
