Krystal Begins Production on All-New Line of Shuttle Buses

Posted on November 1, 1996 by LCT staff

Krystal Koach in Brea, CA, has announced its new line of quality shuttle buses for the livery, hotel, tour, and car rental markets. A 25-foot, 24 passenger (20 with luggage) and a 28-foot, 28 passenger (24 with luggage) shuttle will be offered. The vehicles are based on the Ford E40 cutaway chassis and come standard with Ford V-10 gas engine or the optional 7.3 liter turbo diesel engine.

“We have paid a great deal of attention to detail with the design of these vehicles,” says Gary Dolan, vice president of bus sales. “There are no interior or buttons, rivets or screws which gives our shuttle buses a limousine-quality interior. One of our most innovative features is a sedan-type, air actuated door. Not only does this make it easier for passenger egress and ingress, it virtually eliminates wind noise and water leakage.”

In addition, the shuttle has an exclusive new engineered plywood floor, cross-laminated with resin to make it water resistant. The vehicle carries a 10-year warranty against delamination due to water.

Some standard equipment includes standard seating with captain’s chair for driver, air conditioning, cruise control, heavy-duty dual batteries, commercial-grade carpet, power cab door locks and windows, and power steering and brakes.

Options include seatbelts, custom paint, rear luggage door with built-in automatic step, back-up alarm, and larger-amp alternator.

All vehicles come with a 3-year, 36,000-mile warranty on the Ford chassis and a 1-year unlimited mile warranty on the Krystal conversion.

Krystal has been producing specialty vehicles for over 13 years and is performing certain safety tests in-house, including the seat-pull and roof-crush tests. All Krystal vehicles comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and, upon request, will comply with all New York and New Jersey DOT standards.
