After two years of planning and prototyping, the Cadillac Division and Dillinger Coach Works have introduced the Trump Series of luxury stretch limousines. Two models, the Trump Golden Series and the Trump Executive Series, were designed in consultation with developer Donald Trump. The two new limousines are "Top-of-the-line" in every respect.
On the exterior, the Trump Series is distinguished by a vertically patterned grill, custom wheels, the distinctive Dillinger brushed steel side pillars, and a raised roof. The Gold en Series also features gold-plated accents and gold striped Vogue tires.
Joseph Bisson of Chariot Limousine in Hopkinton, MA (right), will be the first livery operator to utilize a Trump Series Limousine. Bisson met Donald Trump (far left) and Cadillac general manager John Grettenberger at hte Limousine & Chauffeur Show in Atlantic City.
Inside, the Trump Series is filled from floor to ceiling with no-holds- barred luxury. Carpeting is 100 per cent wool, upholstery is Italian leather, the NEC cellular phone features two handsets positioned in the rosewood side panels, a mobile fax machine slides out from beneath the forward bench seat, the sound sys tem is a rack-mounted Blaupunkt unit, and the rear deck sports a concealed paper shredder.
The Trump Series was first introduced to the limousine industry at the Limousine & Chauffeur Show in Las Vegas last November. At the Limousine & Chauffeur Show in Atlantic City this past January, Cadillac and Dillinger Coach Works formally presented a black Trump Golden Series Limousine to Donald Trump.
John Grettenberger, general manager of the Cadillac Division, made the following remarks during the presentation:
Grettenberger: Cadillac and limousines are really synonymous. But they have to be outstanding limousines. They have to be the highest caliber limousines. That's exactly what we have been able to develop with the help of Donald Trump and Dillinger Coach Works in the Trump Golden Series and Trump Executive Series Limousines.
I think you'll also find that these limousines are absolutely unique, and that they have more functionality than most limousines from a business standpoint. Donald Trump lent much more to this than just his name let me tell you. Mr. Trump, I appreciate your understanding of what it takes to develop a real premier limousine. You've been involved in developing the specifications and the contents of these automobiles and we appreciate that.
So, it's my pleasure to present to you the keys to a beautiful limousine that bears your name. Congratulations.
In accepting the limousine, Donald Trump made the following remarks:
Trump: Well, this began about two years ago when John and I were in Palm Beach. And I was saying "John, what Cadillac ought to do is come up with a design for an incredible limousine that has the big headroom and all of the assets that anyone, could want."
Later, I got a call from John and he said "Would you like to get involved with this design project?" I said "I know nothing about cars except what I personally like..." But between myself, Cadillac, and John Stalluppi at Dillinger...we went ahead and designed the car.
We built one, and we saw a lot of things we didn't like. So we went back (several times), and this is what we produced. And we think we probably designed the ultimate limousine to be found anywhere in the world.
You can see the kind of quality there is. We left nothing out. I'm very honored that they built me the first one and, frankly, I deserve it. I really am very honored and I would like to thank Cadillac and everyone else involved.
