Upon first glance, this book reminded me of one of those old training manuals we used at the shipyard where I worked in the early 1980s. It was a spiral-bound, notebook-style publication with lots of tables, graphs and slightly out-of-focus pictures. So right from the start, I was expecting this book to also be as difficult to understand and equally as lack-luster as those manuals.
But as I began to read it, I was very much surprised. The author took time to explain, in detail, every aspect of starting and operating a car wash and detailing business. Each section provided a detailed summary of the business and service aspects of the industry. Roman uses many facts and figures to add more depth to his information. He even illustrates similar types of services you can incorporate into your business, such as glass repair, window tinting, gold-plating, etc.
From a business plan to a marketing plan, estimated start-up costs to resource guide, the Big Carwash Book has it all. It is not just your typical “business start up” book, but rather a complete operation manual.
In fact, the only thing I didn't like about this book was that the graph headers were difficult to read because the colors blended together, and some of the pictures were out of focus so they lost some of their impact. Overall, it is far superior to any other car washing and detailing book I have read.
