AMSTERDAM — Users of malfunctioning TomTom GPS navigation devices around the world are experiencing grey screens and a message saying the machine lacks a GPS signal. The company said “a limited number of models” are affected by a problem with its global positioning system firmware — the code embedded into the devices.
The issue first emerged on March 31. TomTom advises users to reset their devices by holding down the on/off button for 20 seconds, which acts as a temporary fix.
TomTom told the BBC it will update customers on which models are affected as soon as they know more.
