Northwest Motorcoach Company Installs Driver Safety Cameras

Posted on August 14, 2015

SEATTLE -- Lytx, Inc., a video-based driver safety company, announced Thursday that MTR Western has deployed the Lytx DriveCam Program across its fleet of 160 vehicles.

Seattle-based MTR Western has been providing the Pacific Northwest with motorcoach service since 2003, specializing in commuter solutions, professional and college sports, corporate shuttle transportation and any special event that requires custom transportation.

The Lytx DriveCam Program helps prevent collisions, reduce injuries and save lives by combining video with predictive analytics, real-time driver feedback and coaching, empowering fleets to identify and correct driving behaviors that could lead to collisions. MTR Western chose to roll out the DriveCam technology fleet-wide, in part, because of the program's patented, iterative process of scoring, prioritizing and tracking the results of driving behaviors. The DriveCam program identifies behavioral improvement opportunities for increased safety and passes them on to the fleet for use in coaching drivers, resulting in a streamlined safety process for the fleet.

"We take the safety of our clients and drivers and all of our employees very seriously. Being safe is an active part of our daily routine," said Jeremy Butzlaff, COO for MTR Western.  "When you provide a critical service, and the safe operation of your business is paramount, there is very little room for error, which is why we selected the DriveCam Program for our driver safety solution."
